The decorative dolls "Wooden Dolls" were developed in 1952 by the designer Alexander Girard for his own home in Santa Fe. Inspired by the folk art of South America, Asia and Eastern Europe, Girard designed a wide range of dolls in solid fir; dolls which are part decorative object, part toy.
