A sofa is a quiet refuge from stress, a place to read, relax and spend time with those we love. That is why every sofa is different - modular, linear or with a chaise longue, it has to meet our own idea of comfort.
Our catalog offers a curated selection of designer sofas that can be customized in terms of structure, upholstery and finishes to satisfy everyone's desire to relax.
Molteni&C was founded in 1934 by Angelo Molteni, in what is now the furniture district of Monza-Brianza. In a few years, it transformed into a modern industry that became an interpreter of the society's need for change.
In the 1950s, Molteni&C produced avant-garde furniture, such as the chest of drawers prototypes designed by Werner Blaser, a student of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, and Yasuhiko Itoh's bookcase with hexagonal compartments. In the 1960s, Angelo Molteni was among the founders of the first Salone del Mobile, confirming the company's avant-garde spirit.
Throughout its history, Molteni&C has enriched its offering through the acquisition of Dada for kitchens and through its works for the contract sector.
For Molteni&C, the sofa is the "quintessence of a home's style," defining the atmosphere and style of the environment. The proposed range thus welcomes different ways of interpreting the living area, with modern sofas, design sofas and elegant sofas, all sharing the sobriety and elegance that define the brand’s aesthetic.
Vincent van Duysen's sofas favor an informal and traditional style, with linear or corner compositions that interpret living with balance and rigor. Among these, the Lucio sofa with its strongly characterizing harmonic shapes, and models of larger dimensions, such as the Paul sofa and the Augusto sofa, which offer a modern and rational style with elements of classicism.
Another famous collaboration of Molteni&C is with Rodolfo Dordoni, who has imprinted his refined style on the Molteni&C sofas Chelsea and South Kensington. The Chelsea sofa recalls traditional reading armchairs, with an enveloping seat and goose down cushions. The South Kensington sofa recalls a futuristic 1960s style, revisited with contemporary quality and comfort.
Within the Gio Ponti collection created by Molteni&C, the D.157.6 - Due Foglie sofa immediately recalls Ponti's style, with rounded shapes and a modern, essential metal structure.
We have selected some of the brand's flagship models to offer you a wide choice of sofas for the living room, public spaces, or outdoor environments. Each sofa can be configured and customized for dimensions, upholstery, and finishes.
