The Trapéze table was developed by the French constructeur Jean Prouvé for the Cité Universitaire in Antony, near Paris. The table name refers to its legs shape; which are made of bent sheet steel, powder-coated in black. The top, instead, is in high-pressure laminate with the same colour surface coating.
