Mite is the LED floor lamp designed by Marc Kevlar for Foscarini, winner in 2001 of the "Compasso d'oro" prize. An innovative and original design item, since the material choise: a glass fiber and carbon yarn, also known as Kevlar*, mix, that works both as decoration and bearing structure. A tecnology already used for fishing rods, rowing and golf clubs, for the first time utilized in lighting objects. Mite has an elongated shape, by a rounded base, that expandes upwards, where the enlightening group is located. That let the lamp projecting at the same time a warm light beam upwards the ceiling and, also thanks to a internal parables system, a diffuse lighting for the whole ambient, that marks the structure inside. All in a lamp characterized by a strong personality, but that furnishes without encumbrance and with elegance every indoor ambient. In the LED version (24W, 2700°K, 3530lm, CRI>90) dimmer is included and located on the transparent cable that starts from the nickel-plated base, acting as a striplight and as a On/Off switch at the same time. *Kevlar is a Dupont registered trademark.
