Mezzadro is the Zanotta's seat designed by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglione in 1957. The idea for this very famous piece of design and of modern art, exhibited in several museums, the New York's MoMA too, came out from an old tractor. That's why the seat is made of a coloured, molded and holed aluminium sheet, fixed to the steel chromed leaf spring by a simple wing nut, whereas the beech base still refers to the agricultural sector, remembering a yoke for oxen. A creation born for the pure spirit of inventiveness and experimentation that animated the spirit of the two great Italian designers, who in those years have brought the name of Made in Italy to levels of international prestige .
