Sant'Elia is the Zanotta's chair designed by Giuseppe Terragni in 1936. A piece of furniture that has deeply marked italian design history, designed by one of the architects that founded the Italian Movement of Rational Architecture in the 1926. Sant'Elia's style fully reflects what were the basic concepts of rationalism, that is a return to the origin and the function of an object, recovering the refinement and taste from the classical period. The chair was born within the homonymous nursery school project, the Sant'Elia in Como, built by Terragni itself and real icona of that period's architecture. A glass house that needed furniture in line with the project: Sant'Elia it's only one of the three seats made and was the piece of furniture intended for nursery's managers. Taste and functionality conjugated expertly into an object capable of surprising even today for the innovation of forms, simplicity of construction and lightness, guaranteed by a 25 mm diameter steel tubular structure .
