LC4 is the iconic chaise longue by Cassina designed by the "Masters" Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand in 1928. An "infinitely adjustable" chair as described by Le Corbusier himself when he presented it together with his partners at the Salon d 'Automne, the important annual art exhibition held in Paris since 1903. Thanks to its original structure, made of chrome-plated tubular steel, and the base in black painted metal, the seat can easily adapt to any inclination, remaining firmly stable. The success of the LC4, however, is due above all to the special shape of the seat: conceived by Le Corbusier observing Perriand resting on an impromptu chair, the shape was designed perfectly matching the best posture to relax. A real evolution of the armchair, with a view to transforming the house into a "machine for living", according to the definition coined by Le Corbusier for the manifesto of the Modern Movement, through the use of a real "machine for relaxation". In this version, the LC4 is presented with a mattress and cushion covered in all the leathers in the Cassina catalogue, with the possibility of purchasing the headrest cushion matching the seat or in black leather.
