Eero Saarinen Tulip is Knoll's round table belonging to the collection named after the celebrated Finnish-naturalized American designer. The whole family of tables and coffee tables was born from a simple intuition of Saarinen, who in 1957 declared that he wanted to eliminate the "slum of legs" that dominated the furniture of the time. Thanks to the collaboration and technical consultancy of the Knoll studio, Eero Saarinen succeeded in creating prototypes of tables with a single central leg, capable however of giving stability and support to a large top, too. The idea was then applied to various furnishing accessories, given the great innovative scope not only of the project, but also of the materials used. The base of the table is, in fact, made of aluminum covered with an extremely resistant and versatile plastic material, Rilsan, while the top is available in the most diverse materials, from wood to laminate, from marble to acrylic stone. In the version proposed here, the Eero Saarinen table is with white or black finished base and top in laminate, white acrylic stone, wood and marble in several precious finishes.
