The Capitol Complex armchair by Pierre Jeanneret is an iconic piece in the history of design and modern architecture. This element, originally present in the halls of the Haute Cour, is part of the Capitol Complex in Chandigarh, designed by his cousin Le Corbusier in 1951. The Capitol Complex armchair has the same compositional scheme as the other furnishings in the complex, characterized by the inverted "V" shape of the supports. The enveloping padding, which covers the seat and backrest, is distinctly separated from the cushions, while the armrest is designed in a rounded geometric shape. The wooden structure is visible only in the supports and in the final part of the junction of the armrests with the backrest.
