Imbuto Azucena floor lamp, design by Luigi Caccia Dominioni
The Imbuto floor lamp by Azucena, designed by the acclaimed designer Luigi Caccia Dominioni in 1953, is an icon in the world of lighting. Its name, deriving from the shape of a funnel, clearly expresses the inspiration that gave life to this one-of-a-kind lamp. However, the funnel appearance is only evident in the name, as the lampshade is an elegant metal cone that stretches upwards thanks to a thin stem, diffusing a wide, enveloping light.
Originally, the project was also known as "flûte", demonstrating that Caccia Dominioni's ideas took inspiration not only from simple objects, but also from refined musical instruments. This union between the humble funnel and the sophisticated flute, two instruments that collect and guide water and wine or champagne respectively, perfectly represents Caccia Dominioni's unique lifestyle, in which daily simplicity is intertwined with moments more special.
Thanks to its essentiality and functionality, the Imbuto lamp adapts perfectly to any environment, be it contemporary or traditional. Its clean and decisive design allows it to integrate perfectly into any space, acting as a discreet protagonist or as a supporting element to create the desired atmosphere. Whether it is to illuminate an object or create a suggestive atmosphere, Imbuto will always be able to express its timeless elegance in our home environment.
