What's new at the Salone del Mobile 2024

The Salone del Mobile di Milano, a global point of reference for the furniture and design sector, opened its doors from 16 to 21 April 2024, confirming itself once again as a stage for trends and innovations.

This year, the event placed the idea of "surprise" at its center. This word tells us all the sense of amazement and surprise that can be generated by an innovation ecosystem that is able to involve participants in an immersive experience capable of arousing curiosity and stimulating the learning of new forms and new designs.

A focus cannot be missing on the sustainability, comfort and flexibility of domestic spaces, which are reinvented to meet the needs of modern living. In this article we will take a journey into the purest form of design, trying to describe the trends and products destined to become style icons and which you can also find in the Ciat Design showroom.

What will the furniture of the future be like?

An opportunity for designers to indicate a new path and new ways of to conceive the domestic environment, seeking innovative solutions to make the home our natural habitat. This was the Salone del Mobile 2024.

In detail, the Salone del Mobile has always stood out because it offers the possibility designers, both those of the old guard and the rising stars, to propose their vision through the careful choice of materials and colors, and proposing styles that can shape taste and redefine the concept of aesthetics.

The absolute protagonists of the 62nd edition were certainly naturaland sustainable materials, such as wood, stone, vegetable fibers and recycled materials. The choice of natural and sustainable materials is aimed at transferring the concept of circularity also in the furniture segment. Thanks to the different potentials offers, these materials are used to create furniture that is not only beautiful but also eco-friendly.

In furnishings, it's not just the raw materials and lines chosen that count: part of the visual impact is also determined by color. The Salone del Mobile makes us reflect on how warm and enveloping nuances can immediately create a welcoming environment that makes us immediately feel at home. Green light, therefore, to tone such as beige, pink, sage green and mauve green, which dominated the scene, giving the rooms a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere.

However, there is no shortage of proposals that aim to exploit more vibrant colours. bright and lively, especially for furnishing accessories, to give further personality and character to their environments.

Furniture and furnishings with essential lines and soft shapes were also protagonists, which with their shape place an emphasis on comfort and functionality. Furthermore, integrating outdoor elements to expand the living space towards the outside is has become a must.

Finally, we cannot help but dedicate a few words to technological innovation: the home is becoming more and more smart, with intelligent and connected solutions that improve daily life and help save energy. As we have said so far, wood is protagonist of many furnishings seen in this edition. The different declinations of design are contained in Plauto Table, a true work in which this material has the possibility of to express itself in all forms: flat, curved, pointed.

Bonaldo, however, presented Globalove, a seat with an irresistible rounded shape. The design of this armchair, in fact, is inspires by the purity and simplicity of the shapes that are evocative of Mother Earth. With its circular band structure that embraces the backrest and accommodates the cushion, it welcomes and envelops the user, enclosing the person in a globe of comfort.

These are just some of the many new features presented at the Salone del Mobile 2024, which once again confirmed its ability to to inspire and dictate the trends of the future of living.
